Killzone 2 Double XP Weekend for Playstation 3 Starts Now!
Guerrilla Games Producer Sebastian Downie has announced on the PlayStation Blog news that the Killzone 2 Double XP weekend starts now!
To quote: It has been a exciting week at Guerilla with the release of the third DLC map pack "Napalm & Cordite", the release of patch 1.29, the latest update to Killzone 2, the announcement of the "Map Pack Bundle" and the opening of "Our World" an art exhibition here in the Netherlands based around the visually creative process of making the Killzone 2 universe and those that inhabit it.
So to celebrate all this we have decided to give back to the folks who have supported us through thick and thin since the release of Killzone 2: You. The most attractive and charismatic fans any video-game can have. (Yes, flattery won't get me anywhere) And what better way to thank ones loyal fans than with POINTS!
This weekend from Friday at 17:30 GMT till Monday morning at 09:00, any games created will give extra XP points to let you guys rank up quicker and unlock those Badges and climb up the Leaderboard. That way you get more buck for your bang, more meat on your sandwich, more points for your prizes, more sauce on your fries, more ... okay I think you get it.
A Win will earn you a 2.5 multiplier and a Loss will still grant you the normal multiplier for a Win: 1.5. This applies only to individual points, not Clan Valor and will be available in all regions during this time.
We hope all those coming new to Killzone 2 and the veterans alike will take part in this celebration and make sure to keep an eye out for people with [GG] in front of their handles. We'll be rocking the new DLC this weekend too.
Now is the perfect time to go up the ranks in the leaderboard. Start playing Killzone 2 now! Remember, you only got until Monday, the 27th of 2009 to take advantage of the XP bonus.

Press Release: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Expands Again!
New Downloadable Content and New Special Retail Edition Coming this Fall!
New "Infinities" Storyline Takes Star Wars Saga in Unimagined New Directions
LONDON, UK- 24th July, 2009 - LucasArts today announced that their hit videogame Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will see further expansion this Fall through a new downloadable level for the Xbox 360รข video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system.
In addition, the company also announced Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, a special new version of the game for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3, that will show gamers the deepest, darkest side of the Force in a story that puts them on a collision course with Luke Skywalker himself.
Available this holiday season at retail stores, The Ultimate Sith Edition will include all of the original missions found in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as well as content previously only available via download and an all-new exclusive bonus level.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force and casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice," unveiling new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy seen through the eyes of a mysterious new character armed with unprecedented powers. Originally released in September 2008, the game quickly became the fastest-selling Star Wars game ever, and has since sold six million units worldwide.
About the Tatooine Downloadable Content for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Available this Fall via direct download from the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network and the PlayStation®Network, this new downloadable mission continues the story of The Force Unleashed in a new "Infinities" storyline that takes the Star Wars Saga in an entirely new and unexpected direction.
The mission begins at the end of the story of The Force Unleashed and re-imagines the Star Wars Saga as if the Secret Apprentice had killed Darth Vader and taken his place at the Emperor's side, becoming the most powerful Sith Lord in the universe.
The story picks up as the Emperor sends his new apprentice to the planet Tatooine to dispatch Obi-Wan Kenobi - who has been hiding on the planet ever since the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. During their hunt for the reclusive Jedi, players will also explore the depths of Jabba the Hutt's palace and encounter notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time Offers Pre-Rendered Graphics.
Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time finally brings the graphical quality of pre-rendered CGI to video game consoles.
Insomniac's hard work has finally produced CGI quality graphics rendered in real-time on the PlayStation 3. Sure, it might not quite be at Wall-E level yet, but Toy Story 2 quality pre-rendered graphics have definately been reached.
To quote: Insomniac Games, who have produced more games for the PS3 than any other developer (Resistance 1, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Resistance 2) brings their fourth game, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time (or what they like to call Clock Blockers) with an even more polished engine.
The pre-defined animation and limited scope of the cutscenes mean that Insomniac can pull more out of the PS3 for their real-time rendered cutscenes in A Crack in Time, though the gameplay graphics are just as spectacular.
The latest gameplay footage of A Crack in Time video is below also:

Guerrilla Games to "Step Back From Killzone 2"
Posting on the official European PlayStation Blog, Guerrilla Games producer Seb Downie has said the studio will take a break from Killzone 2 following the release of the game's third DLC pack, Napalm & Cordite.
"Right now we’re going to take a step back from Killzone 2," said Downie. "We’ve been working non-stop since the disc version was released on patches, DLC and updates, so need some time to reflect on what is actually out there."
Whether this means the end of new content for Killzone 2 remains to be seen. But in my opinion, I highly doubt that this won't be the end for new content for the highly anticipated shooter.
The Napalm & Cordite DLC pack will be released today on the PlayStation Store. For those yet to purchase the previous two DLC packs, Sony will also be offering all three in what it has imaginatively titled the Map Pack Bundle. Pricing details will be announced later today.
Please leave your opinions about this matter.
